    FAQ

Do I need to know how to code?

No. Claude writes and runs everything. You click through Shopify's dashboard, copy two keys into a file, and paste two prompts. If you can copy and paste, you can do this.

Is it safe to give Claude my store keys?

Yes, when you do it the way the guide shows. Your keys go in a local file on your own machine, never in the chat. The guide sticks to read-only permissions, so Claude can look but not change anything. And you can rotate the keys in one click if you ever need to.

Why does the token only last 24 hours?

That is Shopify's design, and it is a good thing. Your Client ID and Secret are permanent, and Claude swaps them for a fresh 24-hour token automatically whenever it needs one. You never have to renew anything.

Can it change my store, not just read it?

Only if you give it write permissions on purpose. This guide uses read-only scopes, so it is safe to ask anything. Adding write access is a deliberate, separate step.

Will this work on any Shopify plan?

Yes. Any store where you can reach Settings and the Dev Dashboard can create a custom app and use the Admin API.
